EEG Brain Scanners in Flight Helmets?

Scientists at the University of California, San Diego's Swartz Centre for Computational Neuroscience have made a giant leap in helmet technology by creating a helmet that can effectively read a wearer's mind. The helmet uses sensors to detect electrical impulses, which can indicate a pilot's level of alertness and register that information to the plane and ground personnel. As this technology improves it may one day be possible to use one's own thoughts to even fly the plane.1
