German M-16 used by Irish Defense Forces

This is a German Model 1916 steel helmet used by the Irish Defense Forces during the Interwar period (1918-1939). The helmet features faded Defense Forces insignia on the front. The rest of the helmet is brown with a set of vent lugs on either side. On the inside is a German three pad liner. There is also a leather chinstrap attached to the shell by a set of lugs. On the left side of the helmet is a small 6 stamped into the shell, probably all that is left of the original German manufacturers stamp.
