1st Special Service Force M-1 Paratrooper Helmet

This is a United States M-1 paratrooper helmet from World War II (1939-1945). The helmet features two 1st Special Service Force insignia on either side of the shell. The 1st Special Service Force was a joint U.S.-Canadian special operations unit that fought in several key battles in Italy and Southern France. Many of the U.S. and Canadian special forces trace their heritage to this unit. The helmet comes with a reproduction M-1 paratrooper liner that includes a chinstrap with leather chin cup and reinforced snaps.
