This is a World War II era (1939-1945) United States Army M-1 helmet shell. It was produced by the McCord Radiator and Manufacturing Company and was repainted after the war along with the application of the Military Police (MP) insignia and stripe done in reflective tape. The remaining chinstrap is from the Korean War era (1950-1953), which likely dates the helmet’s repaint to that period.
