Waffen-SS Enlisted Service Cap

This item belongs to the following collection: Willi Schumacher's German Uniform Collection. Information appearing in gray fields comes directly from the owner of the collection.

This Waffen-SS visor cap is made of a medium quality green wool with white piping and black badge cloth center band. The white piping is totally intact with a very small amount of discoloration. The cap itself has a fairly significant peak, with gently sloping sides. The zinc eagle and skull have a silver wash. The eagle is well marked on the back upper right wing "475/42." The black leather chinstrap has buckles and buttons that are finished in black. The black visor has a crosshatched, brownish-orange underside, and is tight and secure. The approximate size of the interior is 58. It has a gold cloth lining and a brown leather sweatband, which is perforated at the forehead area.
