This is a M-1 style helmet produced in Germany in 1978. The shell was manufactured by the German company Vereinigten Deutsche Nickelwerke AG of Schwerte, a major producer of the German combat helmets from the Second World War (1939-1945). The “VDN 78” code is clearly visible on the interior, which designates the manufacturer and year of production. The liner is not the standard issue with this helmet, it has been repurposed for the Turkish military and has a Turkish plastic M-1 style liner.
