This is an Israeli Navy beret dating to the 1970s and the Yom Kippur War of 1973. Its owner belonged to the Israeli Defense Forces Zahal Shayetet 13 unit, which is an Israeli Naval special operations commando unit very similar to the U.S. Navy SEALs or British Special Boat Service. It is dark blue in color, and on the front features an IDF insignia metal badge. The inside liner is made of dark blue nylon, and has a manufacturer’s label written in Hebrew along with the years 1971/72.
