This is an Irish M-27 "Vickers" steel helmet from the Interwar period (1918-1939). The helmet is painted light blue and features a set of slots on the front where a badge was attached. The helmet shell is a direct copy of the German M-16 steel helmet.1 On the inside is a German style three pad leather liner. On the back skirt of the helmet is a manufacturer's stamp for Vickers Ltd., from which the helmet derives its name.
