World War II Italian Engineer Colonel's Visor Hat
This is a World War II (1939-1945) Italian Army engineers visor hat. The engineer patch on the front is embroidered and specific to sappers. The hat band is embroidered in gold and gray and indicates the rank of lieutenant colonel, two small stripes with one large.1 The Italian Army Corps of Engineers (Genio Militare) insignia is embossed onto each chinstrap side button. The cap was made by Unione Militare in Rome.
