Imperial Japanese Army Officer's Field Cap

This is an Imperial Japanese Army officer’s field cap worn during WWII (1939-1945). Unlike standard issue field caps made from olive green wool or cotton, this cap is made from a rough textured hemp-like material and was privately purchased. Featured on the front is a gold embroidered five-pointed star above an oilcloth chinstrap. Three vent holes are located on each side of the cap body. The interior has a black satin lining and an oilcloth sweatband.
