German Reichsbahn Red-Topped Visor Cap for Supervisory Personnel

This is a Deutsche Reichsbahn (German National Railway) visor cap dating to the late 1930s and early 1940s. The red-topped wool cap was worn by supervisory personnel and until 1941 featured a Reichsbahn eagle on the upper body and a national tricolor cockade on the black velvet cap band. After 1941 a "winged wheel" insignia was added to the cap band.1 Below the cap band is a small strip of dark blue wool, which was the color worn on top by non-supervisory personnel. This particular cap is missing the chinstrap.
