U.S. Medical Officers Dress Blue Visor Hat
This is a United States Army officer's dress visor hat from the Cold War era (1947-1991). The hat features a blue top with a white and maroon hat band between two strips of gold lace. The hat band colors indicate that the wearer was a member of the Medical Service Corps. A gold chinstrap is attached to the front by a set of gold buttons embossed with the U.S. coat of arms. The hat is missing the officer's cap badge. The gold embroidered oak leaves on the visor signify a field grade officer, from major to colonel. On the inside is a quilted gold satin lining with a Bancroft Military Caps label.
