This box was designed to protect the lightweight parade shakos worn by the French military. It is made from a thick cardboard/paper material with tape covering the seams and cloth ties on each side (tie missing on the left). The box protected the shako while it was not in use and also kept it in the proper shape during storage. The bottom has a metal handle for carrying.
