British Royal Navy Sailor's Cap of the Submarine HMS Andrew

This is a British Royal Navy sailor’s cap from the Cold War era (1947-1991). The cap features a black tally, tied into a bow on the left side, with “H.M. Submarines” in gold lettering. The sides of the hard top are folded down, possibly as a means to make the cap smaller for wear inside the submarine. “H.M.S. Andrew” is written on the liner. The H.M.S. Andrew was a submarine in service during the early part of the Cold War. The name AB Curtis is also written on the liner.
