U.S. Military Sea Transportation Service Officer's Visor Cap
This is a United States Military Sea Transportation Service (MSTS) officer's visor cap. The cap has a white top in the Navy style and features the early MSTS officer's cap badge on the front. The MSTS was founded as the successor to the Army Transport Service in 1949, placing this cap in use during the 1950s before the cap badge was changed to a wreath surrounding a globe with the letters "MSTS" on a flag below a perched eagle. The Navy changed the name of the MSTS to Military Sealift Command during the Vietnam War.
