This is a United States Army Air Force officer’s summer/hot weather visor hat from World War II (1939-1945). The hat features a metal officer’s cap badge on the front. Below the cap badge is a brown leather chinstrap fastened by a set of gold buttons bearing the U.S. coat of arms. The rest of the hat is made from light khaki cotton and is in the “crusher” style, meaning that it is missing any inside stiffening. On the inside is a leather sweatband with an Associated Military Store label.
