German Army Gefreiter's M-35 Steel Helmet, SE60
This is a German Army (Heer) Model 1935 steel helmet. It features two decal insignia: a German national tricolor shield on the right and an army eagle national emblem on the left. Although highly worn in places, the helmet still retains a majority of its early World War II field gray-green paint finish.
The interior M-31 lining is dated 1940 on the liner band. Inscribed on the back of the inner neck guard is an unidentified name, but the rank initials "Gefr" for gefreiter (private first class) are recognizable. The helmet was manufactured by Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke (SE) and is a size 60cm shell.
