This visor hat is of the type worn by Italian National Security Volunteer Militia (Milizia Volontaria per la Sicurezza Nazionale, MVSN) officers just prior to and during World War II (1939-1945). Featured on the front is a gold bullion embroidered eagle and fasces insignia on a white felt backing. The chin cords are interwoven black and gold and are attached by fasces embossed side buttons.
