Flemish Allgemeine-SS Field Cap

This is a German M-43 field cap worn by a member of the Flemish Allgemeine-SS (General SS) during World War II (1939-1945). The cap is similar to those worn by members of the German SS but features a black diamond swastika badge on the front. Below the diamond swastika are two wooden buttons that keep the ear flaps on the cap fastened together. The Flemish Allgemeine-SS was first created in September 1940 and at one time had 1,580 members with another 4,000 as "Sponsoring Members."1
