This is an Israeli Defense Forces Model 1976/85 Kevlar helmet from the late Cold War era (1947-1991). The helmet is similar in design to the American M-1 helmet and features an M-1 style liner on the interior with rubber front, side, and rear padding. The three-point chinstrap system served all facets of the military, including airborne and other specialist forces. The helmet’s exterior shows a series of paint coatings: a greenish tan paint over a factory gray-green. Electrical appears to have been applied by the wearer to keep the helmet’s edging from falling apart.
