This is a Russian Model 1981 (STSh-81) “Sphere” titanium assault helmet. It is constructed from three plates of titanium (one on top and one on each side) and covered with a non-ballistic aramid fiber cover. The liner is well-padded and covered in blue cloth. A factory stamp beneath the top titanium plate indicates the helmet model, стш-81-01, the production number, 2473, and the year of production, 1990. With the helmet is a woodland camouflage cover.
