French Navy General Engineer Visor Hat Named to Rene Sabine

This is a French Navy officer's visor cap from the Cold War era (1947-1991). The hat features a naval officer's cap badge on the front. Below the badge is a gold double corded chinstrap fastened to the front by a set of flag officer rank chinstrap buttons. Around the middle of the hat is a embroidered officer's cap band. The rest of the hat is dark blue wool. On the inside is a clear plastic sweat diamond. The hat was worn by General Engineer Rene Sabine.
