French Service Kepi of Medical Inspector General Charles Dopter

This service kepi belonged to Charles Dopter, a Medical Inspector General during the 1920s and 1930s. The kepi is olive green and features three stars on the front along with a decorative chinstrap to distinguish the Inspector General rank. The dark red velvet chinstrap is embroidered with the acanthus leaves and serpent of the medical service. The interior has a manufacturer's stamp for "BJ" of Paris.

Charles Dopter was born in 1873 in Paris. He received the rank of general in 1923 and was made medical general inspector in 1928. During his service, Dopter was made commander in the Legion of Honor.
