French Embroidered Kepi of Armament General 1st Class Jean Sorlet
Armament Engineer General kepis are largely identified by the wavy pattern of mistletoe leaf embroidery, which is featured here on this Armament Engineer General 1st Class kepi worn by Jean Sorlet around the 1950s-1960s. Sorlet’s rank is distinguished by the two rows of embroidery on the black wool cap band. The bigger top row is mistletoe leaves, and the smaller bottom row is oak leaves, which is reminiscent of the army general’s kepi.
