French Navy Artillery General's Visor Cap named to Maurice Garnier

This is a French Navy visor cap from World War II (1939-1945). The hat was worn by 1st Class Naval Artillery General Maurice Garnier. It features a naval officer's gold wire cap badge and an elaborately embroidered cap band, similar to those worn by flag rank naval officers, that includes an anchor with crossed cannons. Below the cap band is a gold double corded chinstrap attached by a set of gold buttons embossed with anchors. On the inside is a Maison Nicolas manufacturer's label.
