This is a German Model 1938 paratrooper helmet from World War II (1939-1945). The helmet shell has a camouflage paint scheme that uses tan, brown, and green colors. The helmet also uses spanner bolts to attached the liner to the shell. On the inside is a paratrooper liner featuring a leather “A” frame chinstrap, which fits over the wearers ears and adds extra stability to the helmet. A number of manufacture stamps are featured on the liner and give the size of the helmet, 56. On the front of the helmet, the name “Wien” is scratched into the paint.
