Italian Gioventù Italiana del Littorio Garrison Cap

This is a Italian Gioventù Italiana del Littorio (GIL) garrison cap worn between 1937 and 1943. The cap features a metal badge on the left side depicting the she-wolf nursing Romulus and Remus, the legendary founders of Rome. On the front is a small metal badge which includes the fasces with the initials GIL on a disc. The rest of the cap is made from black wool with a black silk liner.
