French Moroccan Tirailleur Officer's Side Cap
This is a French Tirailleur (colonial light infantry) officer’s side cap dating around the French Indochina War (1946-1954). It is based on the models worn by the U.S. Army. The cap is made from sky blue wool and features a green crown and piping, the uniform colors worn by the Moroccan tirailleurs. Featured on the front are five gold and silver braid chevrons used to display the wearer’s rank of lieutenant colonel. The interior has an officer’s quality lining.
