German Police M-35 Steel Helmet
This is a German Model 1935 steel helmet worn by the police of Nazi Germany (1933-1945). The helmet was manufactured by the Eisenhüttenwerke AG in Thale, Germany, and has a light green parade paint finish. Two decal insignia are visible on the exterior shell: a police eagle national emblem on the left and a Nazi swastika shield on the right. This insignia combination was introduced in July 1936.1
The interior has a Model 1931 leather liner with an aluminum liner band dated 1939. A dome stamp on the interior and the leather chinstrap both bear the date 1938. The wearer's initials "O.W." are written on the liner.
