This is a German Model 1934 lightweight helmet from World War II (1939-1945). Featured on the front is the logo of the Steyr company, an Austrian manufacturer of firearms. The rest of the helmet is black with two sets of grate vent holes. There are also two holes on the top of the shell used to attach a comb, an indication of its previous use as a fire helmet. On the inside is a civil style leather suspension liner with a section of vent holes on the front. The tabs around the liner are used to attach a leather skirt to the back of the helmet.
