This is a British Royal Navy sailor’s cap from the Cold War era (1947-1991). The cap is all white with a dark blue wool bottom where a tally would have been worn. On the inside is a cloth elastic chinstrap. The name C. Butlin is written on the liner. Part of a manufacturer’s label on the inside indicates the size of the cap as 58cm.
