German Army M-18 "Ear Cut Out" Parade Helmet

This is a German M-18 “ear cut-out” helmet from the Interwar Period (1918-1939). The helmet features a silver Heer (Army) decal that has yellowed with age on the left side and a hand painted German tricolor shield on the right. The rest of the helmet is light green and includes a set of vent lugs on either side of the shell, mimicking the WWI helmet style. The helmet is made from lightweight aluminum and was most likely worn by an officer in parades or other ceremonies. On the inside is a leather suspension liner with a leather chinstrap.
