U.S. Navy M-1 Helmet for Interior Communications Electrician, WWII
This is a United States Navy M-1 helmet from World War II (1939-1945). It features a painted petty officer second class rank insignia on the front.1 The rank is topped by a circle below a telephone indicating the wearer was an interior communications electrician.2 On the interior of the shell is a McCord Radiator Company manufacturer's lot stamp from early 1943.3 The helmet also has a high-pressure plastic liner painted white. The liner was produced by the Seaman Paper Company.4
