Austrian M-16/17 Style Commerically Produced Helmets
Many of the civil organizations in the Third Reich used helmets produced commercially in Austria. These helmets used a similar design to the M-16/17 helmet from World War I (1914-1918). The companies used various materials including steel and aluminum. Organizations that used this type of helmet included the Reichsluftschutzbund, the Luftschutz, and the Luftschutzpolizei among various others.1
