German M-38 Paratrooper Helmet with Battle Damage

This is a German Model 1938 Luftwaffe paratrooper helmet from World War II (1939-1945). It has a thick, textured brown camouflage paint finish. On the front of the helmet are two fragment holes were a bullet entered and exited the helmet shell, appearing to not cause the wearer a fatal injury as the liner is untouched. On the interior is a leather liner with a paratrooper's harness chinstrap. The two "A" straps went over the wearer's ears and provided more stability while jumping. On the left side of the inside of the shell is a manufacturer's stamp "ET," naming the producer as Eisen-und Hüttenwerke A.G., Thale.
